2026 May7-8th Veterinary Wound Healing Association conference within the EWMA congress in Bremen Germany

International Conference of the Veterinary Wound Healing Association (VWHA)

at EWMA-DEWU 2026 on 7-8 May 2026

The theme this year is on wound healing of the distal limbs:

Day 1: 7th May:  “No foot – No horse – Wound healing of the equine foot”

Here we will discuss wound healing of the equine hoof, specific hoof disease, such as canker, keratoma, heel bulb laceration, coronary band dystrophia, pastern dermatitis and street nail injuries.

Day 2: 8th May:   “Preserving four limbs – Wound healing of the canine/feline distal limb”

On the second day we move our attention to small animals starting with specific wound aetiologies and moving onto antiseptics and wound bed preparation and then discussing reconstructive techniques for the digits, antebrachium and crus.

Both days will have a focus on practical tips for success, as well as prudent anti-microbial use for wounds, research updates and abstract presentations.

Join the Veterinary Wound Healing Association’s conference to learn about practical approaches to optimise wound treatment. Enjoy the programme!
